So, anyone out there using it yet? I just downloaded it and so far, aside from not currently seeing a way to check my 4-5 gmail accounts at once, it's not too bad. It's definitely faster than Firefox or IE so far. I'm liking how they separated the memory for each window/tab to speed things up, along with the way they let the whole page load at once, instead of queuing up processes to wait in line. Anyone else have an opinion/observation about it?

Eh, just another web browser. I think it'll take more competition away from Firefox more than it will explorer. Most of the market share for explorer is all through corporate accounts and therefore will never change. The 10% of the market Firefox has is the market that is willing to try new things. typically younger, computer savvy individuals. Thats the exact same market that will use chrome.

The coporate marketshare wont be going anywhere and the marketshare of indivuduals 30+ wont be going anywhere and thats where the majority of explorers 70% marketshare is.

If anything, Chrome may end up hurting the competition for a new browser more than helping it by taking away the market from firefox. The fight for that 10% share will be between firefox and chrome and will wind up killing firefox since google is the main money behind it.

I haven't heard about it... I will Google it. :p

I use Firefox right now, and love it. It would take quite a bit to get me to switch.

It will be a great browser.

They build a new JavaScript engine which is 30-50% faster than the one used by FF/Opera & IE. I use it for now at BrowserBased games (they use JS), google services (adwords, tools, analitycs, others) and it works great. But it will be long until it will replace Firefox.

This and the incognito option, light interface and low memory usage it`s a very good start for a browser.

It definitely changes the way designers will use scripting. Java-intensive stuff is great. I hate the interface, however. I like hitting a button on the menu bar and having it do what I want.

I love every Google interface, simple as it can be.
GTalk, Chrome, Gmail etc ... It fits like a glove on my PC :))

Chrome interface is based around the page, as it should be, not menus, toolbars etc..

Personally, I am still more inclined to use Firefox. You should read this (http://www.pcworld.com/article/150585/googles_chrome_7_reasons_for_it_and_7_reasons_agai nst_it.html) link. I trust PC World to be reliable.

It seems that Chrome is already used by more people than Opera and Safari,

W3C Browser Statistics
September 2008

Firefox 42.6%
IE 7 26.3%
IE6 22.3%
Chrome 3.1%
Safari 2.7%
Moz 0.5%
Opera 2.0%

I had google, Safari, and firefox installed on top of explorer. In the end I uninstalled safari and google and use firefox. Google is nice as well as fast but not quite up to firefox's level yet. I would uninstall explorer if I could.
