General Information

The Stargate Gaming Clan (SGC) is the oldest Stargate Worlds (SGW) command and one of the largest. The SGC was originally created for Stargate SG-1: The Alliance. We were one of the biggest and most popular clans in the SGTA world with more than 80 members. With the tragic news of SGTA being cancelled we wanted to keep our clan alive so we moved on to Stargate Worlds.

We are a military clan that follows the U.S. Air Force Code of Conduct very closely. We do everything we can to make this clan be canon to the military and the Stargate Universe. However, we are not a strict military, we do not order our people around. We like to have fun.

We also work on many different projects to make the clan better. One of these projects is the Medals and Awards. During the game, members will be awarded medals for their actions. Metals like Purple Heart, Medal of Honor, Airman's Award, and many more. These medals will be graphically displayed in a member's personel display case.

Background Information

We are a Stargate Worlds (SGW) gaming command that originated from the Stargate-Gaming community (now http://www.stargate-gamers.com). Our intentions are to set out and have fun while playing SGW in an environment that will bring out tactics and team play to help become victorious in combat situations and to have a great time.

The clan was first set up by Samuels when he came up with the idea towards the end of June 2005. Once the idea was spawned several other members of the original community decided to jump on the band-wagon and join the SGC to help set up the site and discuss other important aspects of the command. The following people are the members of the community that keep the SGC rolling in it's daily operations:

General Samuels (Founder and General)
Major General Laz (2nd in Command)
Brigadier General G.D.O (Head of SGW Section)
Colonel Vlad Cole (Head of SGW/TLS Section)
Lieutenant Colonel Zach Ryan (Personnel Director)
Lieutenant Colonel Canto (Web Director)
2nd Lieutenant Kn00n (Web Asst.)
Major Tristan Avalon (Personnel Asst.)
Major Chayne Harralki (Personnel Asst.)
Command Chief Master Sergeant Morgan Skywalker (THE Chief)
First Sergeant [E-9] Hobie (Military Advisor)

All of the Command Staff members enjoy the time that they spend on the forums and commit themselves to setting this clan up and keep it going. I hope that you can see that we are a nice group of people that just want to have fun and play SGW in a team as it was intended to be played.

Other Games

Although the focus of this clan will be directed at playing SGW, we do play other games as well.

Stargate: The Last Stand (Half Life 2 Mod) has been added as an official SGC game. It is currently at the ending stages of development. Since the projectsdevs are doing this in their free time we do not have a release date.

The main game played by the SGC and CoP is Counterstrike Source. There is a Stargate Server we tend to play along with a couple of others.

CSS Recommended Servers:
Stargate Mappers Alliance Server: 195.242.238.17:27015
Misfit Mafia Server: 75.126.202.24:27015

Games played in the past included America's Army (AA), Battlefield2, Insurgency (HL2 Mod), World in Conflict, and a couple of browser based games. However, they have not been played as a group in a while. Other games might be added or these revived as interest arises.

Races:
Anyone willing to pledge their allegiance to the SGC in the fight against the Goa'uld may be accepted. The only requirement is that characters must be on the light side (good). We do accept Freejaffa and Asgard.

Rankings:
SGC goes by the United States Air Force ranking system.

Teams:
The SGC will consist of SG teams (as in SG-1, SG-2, SG-3 etc.). Placement of members may change in order to maximize activity. The number of the SG team does not matter. Members will be assigned to different teams based on time zones, availability, and character class. The exact team configuration will be announced as soon as more information becomes available on the game.

Airmen will NOT be assigned to an SG team, but will train and team with SG team NCO’s and one another to gain knowledge and earn a place among a team. They will participate in missions. While dubbed "training missions" it will be the real thing with a Sergeant as the Team Leader. Sergeants will teach the Airmen and report on their progress until an Airman is promoted and placed on a team.

NCO’s will be assigned to an SG team as the 3rd and 4th members when not on training missions with Airmen.

One SNCO will accompany most SG teams as a #2 or #3 in command. Lieutenants will serve as a #2 in command of an SG Team.

Captains and higher will fill Command and 2nd in Command slots of SG teams.

More details will be made available when the Command Staff has more information on the game to go on.
