Hey, just thought I would throw up a thread to get some C&C (Comments n' Criticism) for my art work. I have been working with photoshop for quite a while now and I am finally beginning to get happy with the work I turn out.

If your making an SGC wallapaper or say banner, you should make it look like those old 80's military bunker's in the movie's, with all sorts of red and green lgiht's and rusted metal with the caution tape slapped all over it!

I don't pretend to be good at design, but what if you put an halfway visible planet behind the current logo, to fill it out a little? Its a shipping company, so it makes sense... Just an idea... :) Its great the way it is.

the planet is a good idea i like it! I have one MAYBE suggestion that if you make the phoenix a little glossy touch on the right side to make it look a little 3D would like nice. I have no idea how to do that and also it depends what look your going for. Going for a good ol' look thats not too hard and not too simple or a classy one? I honestly dont know :D but that qualifies as a classy one to me

What's Reactor?

Reactor is a game that I started and some of us from the SGC are going to be working on.

The circle on the left is going to be a "radial" menu and I want it to be interactive, so I might make it in flash. So I am kinda excited... Just need to figure out what to put in the last quarter of it.

That's really cool Duce. Are you currently using Photoshop or Illustrator to do the menu?

And the news is actually the icon for the Map, I'm thinking of a button that will link to a page that will display game updates

Here is some advice from a old web designer..

When doing logo's or web menus use Illustrator. The graphics look a lot cleaner and smoother because its using "vector objects" instead of "bitmap". When you look at professional web pages get real close to the screen and you'll see sometimes the logo doesn't look pix elated. Well thats because they most likely used Illustrator because its good for menus, high quality typography, etc.

I'll show you an example if I can find one on my computer.

Hope that helps. Your logo's and menu's real look real clean and its real easy to use also. Especially once you learn how to export vector objects from photoshop to illustrator. =)

Yes, Illustrator is one of the many things on my list of programs to get for that very reason, I know the difference between vector and raster pictures I just dont have the ability at this time to do anything about it.\
