First thing that went through my head was "wow, they've put up Christmas colours on this board and everything" (no offense, the theme just reminded me of it lol) Still, looks awesome, love it ;)

@ Chayne: Yeah, looks a lot like it lol What better symbol to show the union of various powers? :D

That is awesome! Only objection is the gate symbols on the top bar dont contrast enough with the white letters of the bar.

I think it is from Battlestar Galactica or something. Don't really remember as I designed the logo a while back.

Plain background gives it a more professional look. Probably won't be seeing clouds and stuff anymore. I would like to learn how to do gradient backgrounds though.

As for the shade, a darker color helps blend the logo in better (it has rough edges on lighter color) and matches the color of a banner we have to use. I thought of black, but this is what was best. Also matches the SGC Style Grey.

I am still against having a darker look to the forum. Makes it look more unprofessional.
